Portland, OR -- Lee Shadbolt, driver for Hairpin Racing Subaru Impreza, is pleased to introduce a new team to the 1999 PRO Rally Series. Paul Eklund, former co-driver for Hairpin Racing, will pilot a Subaru Impreza Sedan in the competitive PRO Rally Open class. This marks the return of the Primitive Racing banner to the PRO Rally series after a 5 year absence.

The Primitive Racing Team is owned and operated by Paul Eklund. They will showcase a number of components developed by Hairpin Racing in the past three years plus tricks of their own. Taking advantage of the Open class rules is the first order. "The WRX engine is a gem, but it is only two liters. Paul will start with a 2.2 liter engine while a 2.35 is under development", explains Shadbolt.
