Scott Rally Team Prepares for Oregon Trail Pro Rally

PHOENIX, Arizona -- Scott Rally Team is heading to Hillsboro, Oregon to compete in the Group 2 Pro Rally Championship July 12-13. The mid season rally in Oregon will be a competitive race for Scott Team as they battle to increase their point standing.

Scott Team had a strong finish in the Susquehannock Trail Pro Rally in Wellsboro, Pennsylvania. Driver Brian Scott and co-driver Ed Wahl earned a third place finish in the Group 2 class and a 22nd position overall, bringing the teams current point standing to third in the Group 2 season championship.

Scott Team is focused on the Oregon Trail Pro Rally as this will be a pivotal race in terms of point standings. Co-driver Dave Hackett will join Scott in the Oregon race. "Hackett has a great deal of experience with the northwest events," said Scott. "Our team is very familiar with the Oregon race and so this will be a good time for us to really get our momentum going."

The Oregon Trail Pro Rally crosses the high country of the coastal ranges reaching an elevation of 3,000 feet making it the second highest in the series, behind Pikes Peak. Scott Team is ready to confront the mountainous terrain of the Oregon trails.

"We realize the challenges ahead with the drastic elevation change," said driver/owner Brian Scott. "Our crew is prepared to kick it into gear with the goal to increase our point standing. We are confident that we will have a successful race in Oregon. We feel more comfortable with the car and our abilities to handle the driving conditions on unpredictable trails."

Oregon Trail will be the fifth round of nine in the 2003 SCCA Pro Rally Championship.

This is the third season for Scott racing, which includes driver Brian Scott, co-drivers Dave Hackett and Ed Wahl, crew chief Ed Hale and Troy Crabbtree.
