Dennis has been involved in racing since his father introduced him to it as a small child. Beginning with BMX bicycles, he has raced almost anything he could get his hands on including go carts, motocross, and cross country running competitions. He has lived his life looking for the next thing to race.

In the 1970's and 1980's he was heavily involved in off road racing both in southern California and Nevada. He holds an AMSA Championship, Sportsman Driver of the Year and won many events. He also set and held a record at El Mirage dry lake for a land speed record in a stock body VW Karman Ghia. Looking to cut the costs involved in off road racing, he moved to road racing. He competed in both Formula and IT cars. Introduced to ProRally in 1993 through publications which also involved his off-road racing, he immediately decided to convert his 1977 VW Rabbit into a rally-competitive entry. His first event was the 1993 Rim of the World.

Dennis is the proprietor of Motor Sports Unlimited which he founded in 1984. He designs, fabricates and maintains off road, rally, and road racing cars as well as high performance German street cars. He also does engine and transmission rebuilds for German cars, specializing in Porsche, VW, Audi, BMW and Mercedes.

Dennis is a Porsche Technician with Paul Weir Porsche in Seattle, Washington. He is married to Claire Marie and they are the parents of three little girls; Hilary, Amelia and Rennen.

Dennis' sponsors are Motor Sports Unlimited and Paul Weir Porsche Service.
