Performance Rallying Real Roads...Real Cars...Real Fast |
June 2004
MAINE FOREST RALLY: The Maine Forest Rally is progressing very well. JB has decided to shorten the Wilson Mills stage for the sake of safety. It is now a 6-mile stage called Abbott Brook with Nelson Shepard as stage captain. International Paper has given the MFR permission to use the upper sections this year. There will now be seven stages on Saturday - Magalloway, NER #2, Fred Mapplebeck; Abbott Brook, NER #3, Nelson Shepard; Parmachenee West, NER #1, Mike Collier; Parmachenee East, BMR, Diane Houseal - in the morning. After the service break in Oquossoc there is Magalloway Long, Abbott Brook, and Parmachenee Long.
Other changes include the Parc Expose and MTC on Friday at the Mexico Recreation Area and Parc Expose and MTC at the Sunday River Brewery on Saturday.
The sign up sheets mailed out to 2003 and 2004 workers are coming in very slowly. I am sure the stage captains you worked with would like to know you are coming back again. I would like to know if you are coming so I can order you your shirt. I also need to know if you plan on staying for the buffet. JB would like to know if your are planning on working so he will not panic. New workers are always welcome. MFR gives on the job training.
PERFORMANCE RALLY WORKER'S SCHOOL: The second annual Performance Rally Worker School will be held at Team O'Neil Rally School in Dalton, NH on Sunday July 18th. There will be a RallyCross at O'Neil's on Saturday. There will be a First Timer's Licensing School on Saturday afternoon. Sunday morning will be the classroom seminars for workers followed after lunch by practicing timing stages.
The Team O'Neil School is considering a co-drivers school on Sunday if there is enough interest. If you are interested, contact Tara directly at [email protected].
