Harrisville, NY -- John Drislane and co-driver Naomi Darcy drove to victory over a field of 47 teams on their way to their first overall win in the Sports Car Club of America's Northeast Division (NEDiv) ClubRally Championship. Driving an Open class 1998 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 4, Drislane of Carmel, New York and Darcy of Yonkers, New York lead the event from start to finish.

Second overall in another Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 4 were Noel Nash and Bernard Farrell, both of Yonkers, NY.

Third overall and first in the Production GT class were former Black River organizer Greg Healey of Saugerties, NY with co-driver John MacLeod of S. Easton, MA in a Subaru Impreza.

Battling to retain his lead in the NEDiv ClubRally Championship were Randy Zimmer of Buffalo, NY and co-driver Dave Shindle of Landover Hills, MD finishing 4th overall and third in the Open class driving a Subaru Impreza.

Rounding out the top 5 and taking the Group 2 honors were William Bacon and Alan Grant from Chelmsford, MA in an Acura Integra.

First in the Production class (21st overall) were Bill Tremmel of Riegelsville, PA and rookie co-driver Glenn Kranich of E. Greenville, PA.

Howard Richards of Philadelphia, PA and co-driver Josh Breesem of E. Longmeadow, MA finished 22 overall in their Group 5 Mitsubishi Eclipse.

Overcoming mechanical difficulties, the Dead Last but Finished award was presented to brothers Scott Kreisler of Boyertown, PA and Keith Kreisler of Rexford, NY finishing 29th overall in a Nissan 200 SX.

Frank Beyer and Mark Johnson, "with a little help from their friends", took on the daunting task of organizing this year's running of the event which was taken over by the Central New York Region of the SCCA after the retirement of former Blue Mountain Region organizers Greg Healey and Keith Kreisler.

Headquartered in Harrisville, NY, this was the fourth running of the Black River Stages and the seventh round of the SCCA's NEDiv ClubRally Championship.

In a ClubRally, each team consists of a driver and a co-driver (or navigator), and the exact course is kept secret until just before the event - different from World Rally, where practice is allowed. The cars start at one-minute intervals and race against the clock over stages (competition sections) which range in length from one to twenty miles. The team achieving the fastest combined times wins.
